Passionate, energetic, and fun-loving youth soccer instructors are needed to work with children ages 2 to 8 in the greater Pittsburgh area!

Soccer Shots is the #1 children’s fitness franchise in the country and the official 2-5 year old program of US Youth Soccer! Why? Aside from our incredible curriculum, leadership, and passion, it’s because we only hire the best instructors to work with our children. Working with children is something we don’t take lightly, and it’s imperative that you not only enjoy working with children, but that you are incredibly passionate about it. Sure, we want you to have some soccer skills and to be familiar with the game, but more importantly, can you handle a group of 10 three-year-olds? This is what truly separates Soccer Shots from everyone else - we are in this to impact children in such a way that we leave a lasting impression on them and give them the confidence to be successful both on and off the field. We want our 30 to 45 minute Soccer Shots sessions to be the BEST experience of each child’s week. If this excites you, read on to see how to become part of the #1 children’s fitness franchise in the country by joining our team and impacting the next generation.

We are looking to expand our team of instructors to accommodate our growth in the Pittsburgh region. We operate in day cares, preschools, community centers, etc. - all over the city of Pittsburgh and in surrounding communities. We're looking for both soccer lovers and those who don't have experience with soccer! Most important is that our coaches have previous experience with and an appreciation for young children.

We recruit on a rolling basis, and are currently preparing for the next of our four seasons. We operate year-round and offer four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each season lasts for 8 to 10 weeks. This may be extended if we have weather cancellations during the regularly-scheduled season, as we must fulfill our obligation to offer an appropriate number of sessions each season. Coaches are expected to be available and present for all 8 to 10 weeks, as the kids and parents are dependent upon the consistent leadership that our coaches provide on a weekly basis.

We have private (daycare / school / preschool) sessions running mostly in the mornings Monday through Friday, with public programs being held in the evenings and on Saturday mornings. There is some flexibility in scheduling, meaning that if there are some morning or afternoons where you aren’t available, we can work around that. You’ll be at the same location(s) at the same times each week, and we need you to be committed for the entire 8-week season.

There is a curriculum to follow and equipment and apparel is provided, so the hard work is already done for you; you just get to go have fun with the kids! We have multiple locations around Pittsburgh (at least one in pretty much every community), so the job is not only flexible, but also convenient and close to home.

Since the ages range from 2-8, we try to break the kids up to keep the playing field as level as possible. We have minis (ages 2-3), classic (ages 3-5), and premier (ages 5-8). As you can see, there is some overlap between the divisions, but that is based on individual needs/development of the kids.

The more availability you have, the more sessions you can run and the more money you can make. There is an initial training period during which you will work as an assistant coach. All training is paid!

The ideal instructor MUST meet the following criteria:

Responsible: Arrives on time to each session, can handle a group of 10 or more children, keeps accurate attendance, communicates well with Soccer Shots director of coaching, etc.

Professional: Neat in appearance, friendly and courteous with day care center staff and director as well as parents, self-assured.

Enthusiastic: Must enjoy interacting with young children (2 – 8 years old), and be able to connect with them on their level, making the Soccer Shots class the best 30 minutes of their week. You must be very outgoing and animated; able to be silly with the children.

Soccer: Soccer experience is preferred, however, if you are great with children and have some familiarity with the game, that would work.

Working with children: Must be able to engage and interact with 2-8 year olds, and have experience doing so. This is very important.

In addition to the above, a successful candidate must have reliable transportation and must be able to pass a Child Abuse History Clearance and two and background checks.
