    Job Description: Director of Coaching

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Soccer Shots is a best-in-class, engaging children’s soccer experience with an emphasis on character development for children 2-8 years old. Through relationships established with child care centers, elementary schools, various public locations (i.e. parks, community centers, indoor arenas, etc), Soccer Shots Sacramento is currently serving over 2,500 children each year.

    The growth and quality Soccer Shots Sacramento has experienced over the past 5 years can be primarily attributed to our outstanding team of caring and professional coaches. Working with children is something we care deeply about, and it is imperative that each coach not only enjoys working with children, but is incredibly passionate about coaching children in such a way that leaves a lasting, positive impact both on and off the field.

    As we continue to grow, Soccer Shots Sacramento is currently seeking a dependable, child-savvy Director of Coaching with leadership experience to join our tight-knit and connected Coaching Team. The DOC is the nucleus of the Soccer Shots coaching team, overseeing all of the coaches on the team and is expected to play an active role in the growth, success and impact of Soccer Shots Sacramento in the community.

    The DOC will be responsible for the quality of coaching, ensuring that all coaches meet and exceed the Soccer Shots’ coaching standards. This is a vital role as it is our coaches that make us the best youth soccer program in the Sacramento region, and that quality must be maintained as we continue to grow. Thinking of ways to better train and equip the coaches we have is essential to the success of this position. You will be building a team of coaches that work together, are professional, care for children, and have a passion to see Soccer Shots flourish.

    The Director of Coaching serves the team by helping with the following duties (to include but not limited to):

    Implement and uphold high coaching standards among entire coaching team (currently 10+ coaches)

    Lead seasonal trainings for Coaches (on and off field)

    Perform seasonal evaluations for all coaches

    Lead Saturday Park Program

    Substitute coaching

    Proactively support members of coaching team

    Coach weekly Soccer Shots sessions/Fun Free Days

    Represent Soccer Shots at public events

    Responsible for recruiting, hiring and onboarding/training of new coaches

    Manage equipment inventory (apparel, coaching gear, etc)

    Oversee organization and distribution of jerseys, season prizes and certificates/pictures

    PREFERENCES

    12 ECE (Early Childhood Education) Units (or ability to complete within first six months of position, company reimbursed)

    2 years leadership experience preferred

    2 years early childhood experience preferred

    Saturday morning availability (required)

    CCLD Background Clear

    Google Docs and MS Office

    Ability to lift 40 lbs

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    The job description above is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring a minimum of 35 hours of work per week. Typical/expected hours are Tues-Fri, 9am-6pm & Sat, 8:30am-12:30pm (occasional evening/weekend trainings & events)

    Job location: On-site at preschools, daycares, and various public locations (i.e. parks, community centers, etc) within Sacramento, Placer and El Dorado counties (specifically, Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Granite Bay, EDH, Roseville, Rocklin and Auburn)

    Reliable Transportation: Must have a safe and reliable car, valid license, car insurance and clean driving record

    Compensation: $36-40k Base salary (DOE) plus PTO, sick leave, medical benefits and paid education available
