    Soccer Shots SWFL is an engaging children's soccer program with a focus on character development. We have made a positive impact on over 8,000 participants since launching our business in July 2019. We are hiring coaches now in all of Lee and Collier County areas including: FORT MYERS, CAPE CORAL, LEHIGH ACRES, ESTERO, BONITA SPRINGS, NAPLES, GOLDEN GATE ESTATES, AVE MARIA, IMMOKALEE, SANIBEL, AND MARCO ISLAND.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    Experience with children: Effectively engage and interact with children ages 2-9.

    Dependable: Commit for one year of coaching with Soccer Shots.

    Responsible: Arrive at least 15 minutes early to each session and be prepared to coach the curriculum. Keep accurate attendance and be well organized.

    Professional: Maintain a professional appearance and interact with everyone in a professional manner.

    Enthusiastic: Bring a high level of energy while coaching on Soccer Island.

    Available: Available to coach up to a possible 40 sessions per week.

    Sports Experience: Soccer experience is preferred, however, if you are great with children and have some basic familiarity with the game, we can teach you the rest.

    Reliable transportation: An insured vehicle and valid driver's license is required.

    Background Screening Clearance is required. Additional background checks may be required over time.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Coaching: Operate under the supervision of Soccer Shots SWFL Director of Coaching and Coaching Coordinator. Responsible for coaching 25-40 Soccer Shots sessions per week. Each session ranges in length from 30-45 minutes. Responsible for running or assisting with Free Fun Day sessions at schools and/or public park locations. FT Coaches set the example for PT Coaches and are instrumental for building a positive team culture. Live out the Coaches Covenant.

    Staff Development: Support the Director of Coaching and Coaching Coordinator with facilitating sessions at schools and public parks where other coaches may be training. Encourage, train, and evaluate new coaches. Continue to strengthen the SSSWFL culture by building relationships and setting a good example for other coaches. Assist with preparation for coaches meetings.

    Curriculum Review: Responsible for having a thorough knowledge of the Soccer Shots curriculum.

    Community Outreach/Public Relations: When needed, represent Soccer Shots SWFL at community events such as open houses, back to school nights, festivals, and other special events.

    Marketing: Partake in seasonal marketing efforts including distribution of marketing flyers and yard signs. Expected to help with tables and other marketing tasks when necessary.

    Miscellaneous: Full time coaches should also be willing to perform other duties as requested in order to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    This is a full time exempt position. During seasons, expected working hours will vary and will include working weekdays, weekday evenings, and weekends. Soccer Shots operates year-round and offers 4 seasons: fall, winter, spring, and summer; each season lasts 6 to 10 weeks. We have private daycare, preschool, and elementary school sessions in the mornings and in the mid to late afternoons Monday through Friday, and public programs on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. As such, a mix of daytime, weeknight, and weekend availability is required for this position. Your weekly agenda and schedule will be created and assigned by the Director of Coaching and Director of Programming.

    Guaranteed 2 days off per week, which may fluctuate from season to season depending upon coaching schedule.

    This is a slightly atypical working scenario in that you may have only occasional in-person contact with the rest of the Soccer Shots team. Many of our staff members work remotely; as such, we need a reliable person who can work alone and who is self-motivated, self-regulated, driven, and goal-oriented individual. Much of our communication takes place via BAND, text messaging, phone calls, and email. Given this, the candidate must be motivated, organized, communicative, and self-sufficient. This position is not suitable for those who require a significant amount of oversight or highly structured work environment.

    PHYSICAL / WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

    Position functions primarily in an inside / outside sports environment throughout the year which may include temperatures of extreme heat or cold. Position functions in a temperature controlled office environment a portion of the time.

    Work requires ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout an extended work day (8-10 hrs); position requires use of fingers, hands, and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work; position may need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion; excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers, and phone conversations.

    Work requires ability to run, stop, stoop, bend (a physical, exercise type regimen) in a minimum of 30 minute increments per session. Position requires use of hands, arms, legs, and feet and may include lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion. Moderate gymnasium like noises are associated with this position as well as excellent vision skills (with or without correction).

    Position requires extensive driving in and around Lee and Collier counties. Will be required to drive to multiple sites during the week and on weekends to coach sessions and to fulfill other duties.

    PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS AND REVIEWS:

    Performance will be reviewed after the first 60 days of employment.

    Objectives of the position and company expectations will be reviewed quarterly through a 1 on 1 meeting with a supervisor.

    There is opportunity for future growth within the company either as a coach or part of our Leadership Team in some capacity.
