Job Description

NBC Bay Area is looking for an engaging, authentic social-first Creator & Brand Ambassador to help audiences discover the people, places, food, culture, events and experiences that make the Bay Area unique.

This is more than an influencer role. We are looking for a creator with strong local connections. As our Brand Ambassador, you will attend events, partner with local businesses and organizations, create compelling social content, and help strengthen audience connections with the NBC Bay Area and Telemundo Bay Area brands.

Content will primarily be produced for social, digital, and streaming platforms, with opportunities to contribute to broadcast initiatives. Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

What You’ll Do

• Pitch, create and publish short-form video highlighting Bay Area food, events, neighborhoods, culture, entertainment, outdoor experiences and local trends.
• Serve as an on-camera guide, bringing personality and perspective to each story.
• Interview local business owners, artists, chefs, entrepreneurs and community members.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to develop sponsored content that delivers value for advertisers and resonates with local audiences.
• Act as brand ambassador for NBC Bay Area, participating in advertiser events, brand activations and community appearances with professionalism, authenticity and credibility, both on and off camera.

You are a trusted ambassador for NBC Bay Area who enjoys meeting people, building relationships, and representing the station throughout the community. You understand how to engage audiences in person and across platforms while reflecting NBC Bay Area's values, credibility and commitment to serving the Bay Area.
• Natural On-Camera Presence: You are comfortable speaking to camera and can make content feel engaging, conversational and unscripted.
• Social-First Storytelling : You understand how to work independently to create compelling short-form video with strong hooks, pacing, and personality.
• Authenticity and Editorial Judgment : You know the difference between a good story and a promotional post. You can explain why a place, person or experience matters to a broader Bay Area audience.
• Curiosity : You enjoy meeting people, asking questions and finding the human story behind a place or experience.

Qualifications

Ideal Experience

Strong candidates may come from social media, journalism, digital media, food and travel content, entertainment, events or other creative fields.

Experience with the following is preferred:

• Experience shooting, writing, editing and appearing in short-form video content on Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts or similar platforms.
• Personality-driven video storytelling on lifestyle, food, culture, travel, events or neighborhood content.
• Interviewing and interacting with the public.
• Spanish bilingual a plus.

A large follower count is not required. We care more about storytelling, authenticity, engagement and audience trust than raw reach.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Lifestyle Creator will:

• Become a recognizable and trusted face of NBC Bay Area, building meaningful connections with audiences, community partners and local organizations throughout the region.
• Consistently create useful, surprising and entertaining content that feels native to social media while meeting NBC Bay Area editorial standards.
• Grow into a versatile NBC Bay Area personality across social, digital, streaming and potentially television.

Additional Requirements:

• Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000
