    Social Emotional Learning Mentor/Coach (Full-Time, 9-Month, Exempt)

    CHADS Coalition for Mental Health is a non-profit organization whose mission is to save young lives by advancing the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide.

    Program Description:

    CHADS believes the emotional well-being of youth is enhanced through building self-esteem, self-efficacy, decreasing bullying behaviors, decreasing risk taking behaviors and supporting the development of social and emotional skills. To support the social and emotional well-being of a child, CHADS utilizes an assortment of evidence and research informed programs including social and emotional mentoring.

    Job Description for Social Emotional Learning Mentor/Coach:

    The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Mentor/Coach is a full-time position that runs August-May. The SEL Mentor/Coach will be embedded in the school during all school staff days or as directed by the Program Manager. The mentor will work 40 hours Monday-Friday within the hours of 7am-4pm, though some flexible scheduling will be utilized for times when the SEL Mentor/Coach is required by the school for after school/evening activities.

    The Job Responsibilities for the Social Emotional Learning Mentor/Coach will include but are not limited to:

    Provide individual (in person or virtual) mentoring to students through CHADS Coalition’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum.

    Adapt and modify lessons to meet individual learning styles and needs of students.

    Facilitate small to medium-sized group sessions (3-12 students) for various SEL topics based on the needs of the school.

    Analyze student data to identify needs and implement targeted social-emotional learning interventions.

    Establish and maintain communication with families of varying engagement levels, providing resources and support as needed.

    Collaborate with school staff including counselors, teachers, administrators, and office staff on student care plans and logistics.

    Facilitate professional development training to school staff on social emotional learning topics.

    Provide social-emotional coaching to school staff based upon teacher request and student observation.

    Maintain detailed organization of student progress and lesson plans.

    Administer, collect, and submit all SEW data and maintain all records as specified by program policy, funders, and agency requirements.

    Implement all CHADS programs with fidelity to meet or exceed quality standards and achieve program outputs and outcomes.

    Maintain regular contact with the agency as directed by the Program Manager.

    Any task assigned by the Program Manager that is appropriate for this role.

    Qualifications:

    Preferred master's degree in mental health or related field.

    Minimum 1 – 3 years’ experience working with students and their families.

    Minimum 1 – 3 years’ experience and understanding in promoting social and emotional learning.

    Exhibits patience and resilience when supporting students through social-emotional growth.

    Knowledge and compassion regarding suicide prevention and social-emotional health.

    Demonstrates commitment to collaboration and the ability to effectively represent and advance CHADS' mission.

    Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills with the ability to meaningfully engage with youth, parents, and school personnel.

    Strong verbal and written communications skills.

    Strong adaptability and flexibility in changing environments.

    Excellent organizational, time management, and record-keeping skills with consistent ability to meet deadlines.

    Commitment to achieving measurable impact goals, including consistent attendance and billable expectations.

    Proficiency with various technology platforms including Microsoft and Google suites, video conferencing tools, and ability to learn school-specific software systems.

    The salary range for this 9-month, full-time position is $35,880 – $41,000 per year. Medical Benefits are available 12 months/year.
