    Position Summary
    Sepsis Alliance is seeking a mission-driven and detail-oriented Social Media Contractor to join our growing team. As the nation's first and leading sepsis organization, Sepsis Alliance is dedicated to saving lives and reducing suffering by improving sepsis awareness and care. This role plays a vital part in advancing that mission by supporting organizational operations and driving strategic initiatives.

    The ideal candidate brings experience in social media strategy, social media copy and graphics, social media paid advertising, a collaborative mindset, and a deep commitment to impactful, purpose-driven work. The Social Media Contractor will work cross-functionally across departments to strengthen internal systems, improve team effectiveness, and ensure smooth, efficient day-to-day operations that support the organization's long-term success and lifesaving mission.

    Key Responsibilities

    Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Planning: managing content calendars and setting key performance indicators.
    • Content Management: creating, curating, scheduling, and publishing high-quality original content for various platforms.
    • Community Engagement: monitoring channels, responding to comments, messages, and mentions, and fostering a positive online community.
    • Campaign Management: planning and executing social media advertising campaigns and managing budgets.
    • Analytics and Reporting: tracking metrics, analyzing campaign performance, and reporting on ROI.
    • Brand Consistency: ensuring all content and interactions align with the organization's brand voice, identity, and values.
    • Trend Monitoring: staying current with the social media algorithms, platform updates, and emerging trends to keep Sepsis Alliance relevant.

    Qualifications

    Ideal candidates will possess:

    • Relevant professional experience in social media marketing.
    • Nonprofit or mission-driven organization experience strongly preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities remotely.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic remote environment.

    Availability Expectations

    While this engagement offers overall flexibility, the selected contractor must maintain weekly availability during a consistent window within standard Pacific Time business hours (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. PT), Monday through Friday. This availability supports timely coordination, responsiveness to the marketing team's needs, and real-time communication with internal and external stakeholders. Outside of this core availability window, the contractor may structure their remaining hours flexibly, in alignment with agreed-upon priorities, deliverables, and workload.

    Compensation and Pay Transparency

    Contractors should propose an hourly rate. Sepsis Alliance anticipates a range of $20–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience, scope, and level of responsibility.
