More Perfect Union is seeking a Social Media Designer for a 6 week period.

The temporary Social Media Designer is a part of our social media and distribution team. You will be designing visually appealing graphics and layouts for organic social media posts across multiple platforms, creating and maintaining the Instagram and Facebook calendars, working with colleagues to determine cutting edge and newsworthy content.

This individual contributor position is responsible for creating engaging graphics that communicate our mission and appeal to our audience across multiple channels- with focus on Instagram and Facebook.

This temporary role requires a high level of self-sufficiency, strong collaboration and communication skills, and a desire to help shape and grow the organization’s social media presence within this short-term period.

Core Responsibilities:

• Design visually appealing graphics and layouts for organic social media posts across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, and TikTok.
• Collaborate with the social media team to ensure visual content aligns with clients' brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
• Plan and conceptualize art and copy layouts, considering arrangement, type size, style, and other design elements.
• Coordinate with internal teams throughout the design process, from concept to completion.
• Develop and implement creative content strategies to drive engagement, increase followers, and enhance online presence.
• Stay updated with current social media trends and best practices for organic content.
• Analyze performance metrics and adjust design strategies as needed.
• Meet social media teams' publishing schedules and other deadlines.
• Ability to work in a nimble, fast paced environment.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in graphic design, branding, or visual communication, ideally with experience in social media design.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
• Proven success creating graphics for a variety of social media platforms.
• Ability to translate brand identity into visually engaging assets across different mediums and channels.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work remotely.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects within a fast-paced, short-term timeframe.
• Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing priorities and timelines.
