    Position: Social Media Manager (Part-Time)

    Hours: 15–20 per week, including evenings and weekends

    Compensation: Hourly, plus dining and beer credit

    Course Credit: Eligible for internship/course credit

    Company Overview

    Eberly is a restaurant, bar, and event space on South Lamar in Austin, anchored by the Cedar Tavern bar. Central Machine Works is a brewery, taproom, and outdoor venue in East Austin offering handcrafted beer, live music, food trucks, and a regular event calendar. This role supports the social media presence of both venues with the primary focus being on the development of one project first.

    Position Summary

    The Social Media Manager is responsible for the day-to-day social media presence of Eberly and Central Machine Works across Instagram, TikTok, and related platforms. The role includes serving as the on-camera personality for both brands, producing short-form video, covering events, managing community engagement, and coordinating influencer partnerships.

    Responsibilities

    On-Camera Presence

    Serve as the recurring on-camera host for both Eberly and Central Machine Works in Reels, TikToks, and Stories.

    Conduct on-camera interviews with chefs, bartenders, brewers, musicians, and guests.

    Host on-camera features for new menu items, cocktails, and beer releases.

    Provide on-camera walkthroughs of events, spaces, and behind-the-scenes activity.

    Content Production

    Plan, shoot, and edit short-form video on a consistent posting cadence for both venues.

    Capture content that highlights food, beverage, beer, interiors, and event programming.

    Develop recurring content series tied to each brand's identity.

    Maintain a shared content calendar aligned to events, menu launches, and beer releases.

    Event Coverage

    Attend key events at both venues (brunches, dinners, private buyouts, live music, trivia, festivals, beer releases) to capture and post live content.

    Produce pre-event, day-of, and post-event content for featured programming.

    Coordinate with the events, beverage, and culinary teams on content priorities.

    Community Management

    Monitor and respond to direct messages, comments, mentions, tags, and reviews across both brands' accounts.

    Triage guest inquiries and route to the appropriate team members when needed.

    Maintain timely and on-brand engagement with the local community.

    Influencer & Partnerships

    Identify, vet, and reach out to Austin-area creators, food and beverage influencers, and local media.

    Coordinate hosted visits, comped tabs, and paid partnerships within budget.

    Manage and accept Instagram Collab posts and co-authored content.

    Maintain a roster of past, active, and prospective collaborators.

    Reporting

    Track core metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth, saves, shares) and provide a monthly summary per venue.

    Monitor platform trends and recommend adjustments to content strategy.

    Required Qualifications

    Demonstrated experience producing short-form vertical video, with a portfolio of work.

    Comfort appearing on camera as a recurring on-screen host.

    Proficiency in mobile video editing tools such as CapCut, InShot, or Adobe Premiere Rush.

    Strong written communication and brand voice.

    Ability to manage two brands and a class schedule with consistent follow-through.

    Reliable transportation between South Lamar and East Austin.

    21+ preferred for full bar and taproom access; under-21 candidates considered.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Prior social media experience for a school organization, business, or freelance client.

    Existing personal content channels or following.

    Familiarity with paid social platforms (Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads).

    Photography, graphic design, or motion design skills (Lightroom, Canva, etc.).

    Familiarity with Resy, OpenTable, Eventbrite, Yelp, Google, or Untappd.

    Schedule

    Approximately 15–20 hours per week, scheduled around the candidate's class commitments and weekly meetings. Evening and weekend availability is required to support event coverage at both venues.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Monthly rate of $1200-$1500 based on experience

    subscription / material stipend

    Dining credit at Eberly and beer credit at Central Machine Works.

    Eligible for internship or course credit; will coordinate with faculty sponsor.
