    Social Media Specialist | Part-time

    Caring for the Hungry & Homeless of Peekskill (aka CHHOP) prides itself on serving the community for 38 years. We are seeking a part-time social media specialist to help tell our story, share news and information about our organization, and humanize the stories of homelessness and food insecurity.

    Reporting to the CEO, the social media specialist will be an integral part of our ongoing outreach to existing and potential supporters online. We want this individual to essentially become the digital voice of, and for, the organization.

    Responsibilities will include:

    o Collaborate with the team in establishing the organization’s social strategy, content planning and voice

    o Manage consistent engagement on Facebook, Instagram and Linked In

    o Ideate and produce compelling, and visually appealing, content

    o Ideate and build relationships with partner/like-minded organizations/businesses for online collaborations

    o Optimize hashtag and handle usage

    o Monitor potential negative feedback and mitigate reputational issues in collaboration with communications consultant

    o Establish and produce simplified data/measurement tracking processes and provide reporting

    Qualities/Skills

    o 2+ years of experience managing social media for a brand(s) or nonprofit either in-house, freelance or at an agency

    o Strong visual/design sensibility and solid copywriting abilities

    o Experience with graphic, photo, video editing software programs and SEO

    o Thoughtful, curious and passionate about promoting brand awareness for an important nonprofit in the community

    o Collaborative spirit, strong interpersonal skills, energy and enthusiasm; excited by working within an occasional tight deadline is helpful

    Hours Up to 15/per week

    Rate Suggest $25/per hour

    Type Hybrid or remote – to be discussed; flexibility to be on-site CHHOP at times is helpful to build relationships with the team
