Position Overview As a Social Security Disability attorney with Beacon Disability, you will represent clients at all stages of the disability claims process—from initial applications and reconsiderations to administrative hearings. You will be responsible for building strong, trust-based relationships with clients, developing persuasive legal arguments, and advocating efficiently and zealously on behalf of individuals who are often at their most vulnerable. This is a remote position. Responsibilities: • Represent clients in all phases of Social Security Disability proceedings, including initial claims, reconsiderations, hearings before Administrative Law Judges (ALJs), and appeals to the Appeals Council. • Conduct comprehensive case evaluations and develop strategies tailored to each client’s unique circumstances. • Draft legal briefs, memoranda, and correspondence for submission to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and courts. • Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, including conducting pre-hearing interviews and developing testimony. • Cross-examine medical and vocational experts at hearings. • Maintain accurate and detailed case notes, deadlines, and communications in the firm’s case management system. • Stay abreast of changes in Social Security law, regulations, and relevant case law. • Collaborate with support staff to ensure timely and effective client service. • Participate in firm-wide training, case reviews, and professional development initiatives. Qualifications: • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. • Active and good standing with at least one state bar; multi-state licensure is a plus. • Experience handling Social Security Disability cases. Additional experience with either VA disability claims or ERISA disability claims is highly desirable. • Demonstrated knowledge of SSDI, SSI, and related areas of disability law. • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a significant caseload with competing deadlines. • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to serve individuals with disabilities. • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software. • Willingness to travel for hearings as needed (cost of travel is covered). • Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required. Compensation: $80,000 - $96,000 yearly
