    Position Reference: 01CLFCO001

    CLF Consultants seeks a Social Services Assistant at the Weber Basin Job Corps Center in the Ogden, Utah area. The Social Services Assistant works inside a residential youth training community, guiding students toward positive social skills, workplace readiness, and daily accountability while modeling the professional behavior expected in employment settings. This is a part-time, W-2 role (Service Contract Act covered) of approximately 1,040 hours per year.

    The successful candidate is a patient, steady, people-first professional who is comfortable in a structured residential program, communicates calmly with young adults, and reinforces the Center Behavioral Management System and Student Code of Conduct while keeping students safe and on task through the training day.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist students and Center staff in building positive social skills through modeling appropriate behavior, positive intervention, and teaching employability skills for workplace success.
    • Participate in the Center Behavioral Management System and Student Code of Conduct, reinforcing expected conduct, appearance, and behavior.
    • Observe and report social, behavioral, or disciplinary concerns to the supervisor, and support students in resolving day-to-day issues constructively.
    • Ensure student compliance with safety rules and regulations in both living and working situations.
    • Establish and manage student work rosters on a rotating basis and confirm students complete assigned tasks.
    • Provide leadership and direction to students in daily housekeeping duties, work details, physical training, recreation, and personal hygiene routines.
    • Use Job Corps databases and software to process and document work assignments accurately.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or high school equivalency.
    • Experience working with young adults, students, or in a residential, educational, or human-services setting.
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to transport students in Government vehicles as assigned.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain order and de-escalate routine conflicts calmly.
    • Basic computer skills for recording assignments and processing work using Center databases and software.
    • Ability to pass the background screening required for work at a federal Job Corps Center.

    Strongly Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience in a Job Corps Center, residential program, youth mentoring, workforce development, or case-management role.
    • Familiarity with behavior management systems, positive youth development, or student conduct programs.
    • Coursework or a degree in social services, human services, education, counseling, or a related field.

    Compensation and Engagement Details

    • Hourly base range: $18.44 to $22.32 per hour, commensurate with experience.
    • SCA Health and Welfare fringe benefit added on all paid hours.
    • Paid time off and federal holiday recognition consistent with Service Contract Act requirements.
    • Part-time schedule of approximately 1,040 hours per year, with predictable Center-set shifts.
    • CLFC PMO administrative support: onboarding, credential verification, and federal compliance attestation.
