Overview: We are seeking a mission-driven, bilingual (Spanish/English strongly preferred) Social Services Caseworker to support and expand the social services side of our nonprofit. This is a hands-on, community-facing role for someone passionate about connecting individuals to essential resources—while also helping design and grow a responsive, client-centered support system.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, compassionate, and highly organized, with a deep commitment to serving low-income and housing-insecure individuals and families. You’ll be a key part of our team as we deepen our impact and build the infrastructure for long-term community support.

    Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct support for clients seeking housing, public benefits, employment assistance, and vital documents

Lead outreach and intake efforts, helping streamline access to services through coordinated assessments

Develop and grow the social services program, including shaping systems, identifying gaps, and proposing solutions

Build and maintain partnerships with local agencies, community organizations, service providers, and corporations

Track and maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and client data

Distribute basic needs items (toiletries, diapers, hygiene kits, etc.)

Support grant tracking and outcomes reporting as needed

Supervise volunteers, interns, or AmeriCorps members supporting the program

    Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field

2–5 years of experience in case management or direct service delivery

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Experience working with vulnerable populations, including those experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, or substance use

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation

Comfortable working outdoors and during flexible hours (including occasional evenings/weekends)

Willing to become a Notary Public (training/certification provided)

Must pass a background check and onboarding process

Able to lift up to 25 pounds

    Preferred but Not Required:

    Bilingual in Spanish/English

Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed practices

Familiarity with Chicago’s West Side communities and local resources
