Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEW) Program Coordinator (Full-Time, 10-Month)
CHADS Coalition for Mental Health is a non-profit organization whose mission is to save young lives by advancing the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide.
Program Description:
CHADS believes the emotional well-being of youth is enhanced through building self-esteem, self-efficacy, decreasing bullying behaviors, decreasing risk taking behaviors and supporting the development of social and emotional skills. To support the social and emotional well-being of a child, CHADS utilizes an assortment of evidence-based programs. These programs include, but are not limited to one on one social and emotional mentoring, Second Step, group mentoring, and classroom/student observations.
Job Description for SEW Program Coordinator:
The SEW Program Coordinator is a full-time, 10-month position that runs August - May. The Program Coordinator will be required to work both in-person at schools and in the CHADS office. The coordinator will work 40 hours Monday - Friday within the hours of 7am - 4:30pm, though some flexible scheduling will be utilized for times when the Program Coordinator is required for after school/evening activities.
The Job responsibilities for the SEW Program Coordinator will include but are not limited to:
Provide individual (in person) mentoring to students through CHADS Coalition’s Social Emotional Learning curriculum 2 days a week
Assist in the oversight of the individual mentor program and Second Steps; this includes marketing, implementation, and continued development.
Utilize Continuous Quality Improvement to ensure the individual mentor program and Second Steps are implemented to fidelity and meet highest quality standards
Encourage, support, and guide new innovative ideas and program development that support Social and Emotional Wellness
Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of Social Emotional Mentors
Promote SOS, CHADS’ Family Support services, and the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Program to school administrators, faculty, and students as needed
Maintain 20% billable hours
Any task assigned by the SEW Program Manager
This position will report directly to the SEW Program Manager
Qualifications:
Preferred master’s degree in education or counseling or similar degree, Minimum of bachelor’s degree in education or counseling degree with 1-3 years’ experience
Experience in promoting social and emotional learning
Experience in program development, oversight and growth
Management or supervisor experience with the ability to inform, engage, and inspire staff and community stakeholders
Knowledge and compassion regarding suicide and bullying prevention
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Team-player attitude and ability to understand and effectively share the CHADS’ mission
Desire to work in an environment of measurable accountability
Must be comfortable using computer applications and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point, live video conferencing
This position requires access to reliable transportation
Starting Salary: $43,333.00+ per year
