JOB DESCRIPTION

PROGRAM ASSOCIATE - 25 -29 HOURS A WEEK, 16.50 HOURLY RATE OR BASED ON EXPERIENCE - LIVE IN AND ROOM AND BOARD INCLUDED                                              

Dismas House is a Transitional Housing Program for Men, the ideal person for this position will have a high school diploma.  Knowledge of the criminal justice system would be helpful.  Must have a valid New York State driver’s license.  Training and supervision will be provided by the Program Administrator and Housing Manager.

The program associate is in a supportive role and is responsible to set a prime example, and be a positive role model with the program residents.  This person must be capable of providing supervision and monitoring all activities and behavior.  

The person in this position must be able to build trust and a healthy rapport with program residents.  Must be able to effectively engage residents to heighten the program associate’s awareness of their activities and well-being.

Typical work activities would include but are not limited to:

·       Enter appropriate recordings of daily program activities and situations.

·       Ancillary duties, which include chores, cooking, and answering the phone.

·       This position is p/t with evening and weekend hours and it comes with the benefit of room and board.

·       The part time position comes with a pension plan after two years (as long as the hours worked add up to 1,000 hours worked annually).   Individuals can also contribute to our 403b at any time.  Vacation time is prorated at a part-time rate as well as personal days and sick time.
