    Genetics Product Specialist - Implementation SOFT COMPUTER CONSULTANTS 7 reviews - Clearwater, FL 33760 POSITION SUMMARY: The Genetics Product Specialist on the Implementation team will work with assigned clients to train and assist with the implementation of SCC's Genetics Information Systems Suite of products. SCC's products include SoftGenomics, SoftPathDx, SoftCytogenetics, SoftMolecular, SoftHLA, SoftFlowCytometry, SoftBioChemistry and SoftGenePortal. The implementation and configuration will require definition of system scopes and objectives based on user requirements and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements. This position may also support product development activities. Work with our clients to implement our software utilized by hospitals and laboratories across the world. This position is full-time, Genetics Product Implementation Specialist - Monday-Friday with room for advancement. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Client Implementation * Travel to client site to perform implementation activities. * Assess client's current workflow and, working with the client, document future state of workflow. * Coordinate and meet with clients and business leaders in conjunction with Software Architects and Development Teams to ensure that the direction, scope and dependencies of the file build design and any gaps are identified and documented. * Provide client training including System Configuration Training, Super User Training, and any other project specific training as needed. * Create, review and revise test cases for accuracy regarding the client's specific build and workflow. * Support and assist client with End User Training as needed.

    • Assist client with validation techniques for delivered software. * Review client test cases for accuracy regarding their specific build and workflow. * Provide client with support throughout the implementation processes and milestones, ensuring completion of milestones by or before project plan deadlines. * Hold weekly client calls and/or WebEx sessions with client Subject Matter Expert groups to review, build, test, validate, train and provide remote assistance. * Smoke-test software deliveries in specified environments, including clients. * Procure weekly status information for the BA, AE or Project Manager for preparation of weekly status updates. * Perform implementation activities as directed by the Genetics Implementation Manager or designee (e.g. PM, BA). * Escalate all project risks to the Genetics Implementation Manager, PM or BA as appropriate. Client Development * Travel to various client sites as needed. * Although enhancements or development of software should be strictly controlled, the Genetics Product Specialist should be able to: * Translate any client business requirements into concise system requirements in SCC's development tool.
    • Review, revise and/or approve requirements in SCC's development tool.
    • Review, revise and/or approve test cases as set forth in SCC's development tool. * Review, revise and/or approve release notes as set forth in SCC's development tool. * Review and/or revise system manuals and training curriculum for clients and products as needed. * Perform, revise and/or approve client complaint documentation. * Perform, revise and/or approve risk-to-health documentation. * Prepare for and provide Sales Demos as requested. * Provide feedback and materials for sales and marketing initiatives as requested. * Travel to promote new business as requested. * Provide information for RFP's as requested. * Participate in initiation of integration with other products as needed. * Collect information to support department initiatives as needed. * Create, review and/or revise department and quality system standard operating procedures as needed. * Performs other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in a Healthcare/Clinical related field (Medical Technology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cytotechnology, Histotechnology, etc.) preferably with a Computer Science concentration. Must have at least an Associate's Degree. Certification or License in a clinical related field (Cytogenetics, Histotechnology, Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Sciences or related) by either the State of Florida, ASCLS, ASCP or other national certifying organizations. Experience Required: Previous experience working in the clinical laboratory field as a Medical Technologist or related position. The candidate will have two to three years of experience in domains such as laboratory, cytogenetics, molecular HLA typing,HLA antibody detection, flow cytometry, biochemistry, immunogenetics, cytology or histology/pathology. Prior experience in clinical diagnostic laboratories preferred with proficiency in basic genetics or pathology theory and laboratory practice, specimen preparation and processing. Prior experience in genetic laboratories preferred with proficiency in basic genetic theory and laboratory practice, specimen preparation, cell culture and harvesting, and chromosome analysis. Previous experience in the usage, file building, and trouble shooting of a laboratory information system (LIS) is preferred. Skills Required: * Ability to learn and understand existing business processes. * Strong technical, non-technical, spoken, and written communication skills are required to work with a wide array of business users including software developers as well as clients and executive management. * Expert analytical and problem solving skills along with strong presentation skills. * Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and as a team player. * Dedication to meeting the requirements and expectations of internal and external customer; accurate anticipation of future consequences and trends; desire to stay abreast of technical developments in the field; strong attention to detail and follow-through; highly organized and detail oriented. * This position requires strong knowledge of both project management and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) of large-scale development projects.
