    The role

    As Software Architect, you will define and evolve the technical architecture of Vale's software platform, ensuring it can scale with the business and support the team's velocity.

    • Define and communicate Vale's overall software architecture, standards, and technical roadmap
    • Partner with Engineering Managers and senior engineers on system design decisions
    • Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance on complex technical challenges
    • Drive adoption of best practices in areas such as reliability, security, and developer experience
    • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools
    • Serve as a technical mentor to engineers across the team
    • Collaborate with Product and Data teams to ensure architecture supports business needs

    Qualifications

    • Legally authorized to work in the United States
    • 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in an architect or principal engineer role
    • Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and API design
    • Proven ability to define and communicate architectural decisions at an organizational level
    • Experience working in environments with hardware-software integration (IoT or embedded systems) a strong plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Compensation

    $165,000 – $215,000 per year
