The role
As Software Architect, you will define and evolve the technical architecture of Vale's software platform, ensuring it can scale with the business and support the team's velocity.
- Define and communicate Vale's overall software architecture, standards, and technical roadmap
- Partner with Engineering Managers and senior engineers on system design decisions
- Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance on complex technical challenges
- Drive adoption of best practices in areas such as reliability, security, and developer experience
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools
- Serve as a technical mentor to engineers across the team
- Collaborate with Product and Data teams to ensure architecture supports business needs
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in an architect or principal engineer role
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and API design
- Proven ability to define and communicate architectural decisions at an organizational level
- Experience working in environments with hardware-software integration (IoT or embedded systems) a strong plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Compensation
$165,000 – $215,000 per year
