We are seeking a Software Certification Engineer to join our world-class team and play a key role in certifying cutting-edge avionics software for commercial, military, and space applications. In this role, you will ensure software products meet regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as DO-178C, and contribute to the development of safe, reliable, and high-quality aviation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Support software certification efforts in accordance with DO-178C and other applicable regulatory standards (DO-330, DO-331, etc.).
Collaborate with software development teams to plan and execute software certification activities.
Develop and review certification artifacts including Plans, Standards, Reports, and checklists.
Interface with DERs, FAA, EASA, and/or other certification authorities to resolve findings and obtain approval.
Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with software lifecycle processes.
Support gap analysis and closure plans for legacy programs.
Participate in process improvement initiatives related to certification and quality assurance.
YOU MUST HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in avionics software development or certification.
Strong understanding of DO-178C and related certification processes.
Experience working with FAA, EASA, or other aviation authorities.
WE VALUE:
Knowledge of DO-254, ARP4754A, and ARP4761.
Familiarity with Agile/SAFe development environments.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Previous experience working with Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs).
Knowledge of tools like Jira, IBM DOORS, or Polarion.
