    Job Description

Lead .NET MAUI Mobile Developer – Onsite in Austin, TX – 2+ Month Contract
    Location: Austin, TX (100% Onsite)
    Duration: 2+ Months
    Industry: Government / Public Sector
    Client: Available to qualified candidates

    Project Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced .NET Mobile Developer to lead the modernization of a critical mobile application used by the State of Texas. In this short-term, high-impact role, you will take the lead in transitioning the TXMAP codebase—currently built on .NET Xamarin—to the new .NET MAUI framework. This transition will ensure continued functionality for both iOS and Android platforms.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the migration of TXMAP mobile applications from Xamarin to .NET MAUI

    • Ensure application stability and functionality across Android and iOS platforms

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand existing app architecture and performance expectations

    • Leverage Microsoft Visual Studio and other development tools to maintain code integrity and performance

    • Document work, communicate updates, and support state compliance standards throughout the transition

    Minimum Required Skills and Experience:

    • 8+ years of experience with the .NET platform

    • 8+ years using Microsoft Visual Studio

    • 1+ year of hands-on experience developing mobile applications for Android and iOS

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5+ years working with the Atlassian Tool Suite (primarily JIRA)

    • 2+ years of experience migrating apps from Xamarin to .NET MAUI

    • Previous experience with State of Texas government applications

    Why This Role?
This is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact by leading a focused modernization effort that directly affects mobile app users across the state. If you're ready to take charge of a .NET MAUI migration and thrive in a public sector environment, we want to hear from you.

Would you like me to tweak the tone or focus it toward a particular kind of developer (e.g., government-experienced, mobile-centric, or .NET architect level)?
