Job Summary
As a Software Engineer Lead, you will play a vital role in designing, building, and supporting Guidewire software applications and integrations. You will be a part of our dynamic Guidewire Configuration Team where you will apply your expertise in gathering, documenting, understanding, and articulating functional and non-functional already defined business requirements.
Responsibilities
Responsible for leading the ClaimCenter/Contact Manager Configuration team.
Responsible for designing, developing, releasing, and maintaining designated software applications.
Gather, document, understand, and articulate functional, non-functional, and business requirements that are already defined.
Perform unit, regression, and integrations testing for application changes to ensure high quality.
Track and monitor production systems for issue identification and prevention across multiple environments and operating platforms.
Research and troubleshoot issues across different functional teams in order to rectify system problems in a timely manner.
Communicate status updates with team members and leaders to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Becomes familiar with Alfa’s interconnected technology framework and systems in order to understand impact of software changes.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area of study related to Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering is required. Or bachelor’s degree required with 10 years’ experience in software development.
At least 3 years of on-the-job experience coding and developing in Guidewire is required. Or at least 2 years of on-the-job experience coding and developing in Guidewire required and having attained the “GW Certified Professional” certification
Experience in Java, GOSU, XML, Insurance Vertical Experience, SQL Server, a modern code repository (i.e. BitBucket, GitHub, etc.).
Competent communication skills, including clear and timely communication on business issues and assignments with peers, management and product owners.
Guidewire ClaimCenter experience is preferred.
Ability to quickly learn and comprehend insurance-related topics and relate that knowledge to the development process.
Possess the ability to work efficiently during core business hours while effectively managing time.
