    Software Engineer

    Position Summary:

    The Software Engineer designs, develops, and supports advanced software solutions that power complex machine tools, automation systems, and user interfaces used in both additive and subtractive manufacturing. This role blends hands-on programming in C++ with analytical problem-solving to create, test, and refine software that integrates seamlessly with manufacturing processes and robotics equipment. Working collaboratively across departments, the engineer contributes to one-of-a-kind global projects, ensuring product excellence, reliability, and innovation. The position also involves providing customer support for deployment and maintenance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and advancing the company’s competitive edge in high-precision manufacturing technology.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, analyze, program, debug, and modify software for machine and computer applications.
    • Investigate engineering tasks and prepare detailed design specifications, analysis, and recommendations.
    • Support manufacturing process integration for complex manufactured parts.
    • Provide customer support for software deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
    • Ensure all products and services meet the company’s highest standards of quality and reliability.
    • Collaborate on one-of-a-kind projects with leading organizations worldwide.
    • Meet deadlines and contribute to company goals in the rapidly growing additive and subtractive manufacturing markets.
    • Champion a Continuous Improvement philosophy, actively supporting initiatives in quality, safety, productivity, and performance.

    Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in C++ programming and software development principles.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Solid foundation in mathematics, including vectors, 3D geometry, and transformations.
    • Ability to learn and understand the full hardware and software infrastructure of automated machine tools and robotics systems.
    • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams to achieve divisional goals.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Recent professional or academic experience in software development.

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
      • Alternatively, a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with substantial experience in a software development environment.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN).
    • Background in developing algorithms, filtering methods, or multi-threaded applications.
    • Experience working with the Qt toolkit for UI or software development.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing, industrial machinery, or software applications supporting production environments.
    • Exposure to machine learning and machine vision technologies.
    • Knowledge of SQL database engines (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) and T-SQL scripting.
