Lead and manage all Software Engineers within the Munitions group in the Textron Systems Weapons division.
Ensure adequate staffing levels for Software Engineers, including:
Managing full-time employees, co-ops, interns, and contractors.
Forecasting needs to meet program and organizational requirements.
Drive Software Engineer development and engagement through:
Performance management: establishing objectives, conducting reviews, and providing feedback.
Facilitating regular communication: hosting meetings, resolving issues, and mentoring team members.
Developing detailed skills planning and providing training opportunities to enhance capabilities.
Oversee customer deliverables, including:
Review and approval of software architecture and requirements development.
Ensuring deliverables meet internal quality expectations and customer requirements.
Monitor and improve departmental performance via:
Analysis of quality metrics related to process compliance and overall team performance.
Gathering and addressing feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience, OR Master’s degree (M.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of embedded and application Software Engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
Familiarity with Agile Software Development methods and tools.
Understanding of Model-Based Engineering practices.
Experience with process improvement methodologies is preferred.
