Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for defense projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the success of critical defense programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for defense applications, adhering to project requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, and propose technical solutions that meet project objectives.
- Develop software architectures, designs, and prototypes, and review and refine them with project teams and stakeholders.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in accordance with coding standards and best practices.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and system testing of software components, and debug and resolve issues as needed.
- Collaborate with other engineers and team members to integrate software components and ensure system interoperability and performance.
- Support software deployment and configuration management activities, and assist with troubleshooting and resolving software-related issues.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software development, and apply them to project work.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams and stakeholders, and participate in technical reviews and meetings as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, preferably in a defense or aerospace environment.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or Python, and experience with software development tools and frameworks.
- Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall, and familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of software engineering principles, practices, and standards, and experience with software design, development, and testing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with real-time embedded software development and knowledge of operating systems such as Linux or VxWorks.
- Familiarity with defense-specific standards and protocols, and experience with defense-related software applications.
- Experience with software requirements analysis, system architecture design, and software documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Important: This is for 24-hour missions and schedules can rotate, so you must be available at any time.
