General Summary
COLSA is seeking a Software Independent Verification and Validation (SIV&V) Software Engineer/Analyst for Software Mission Assurance capabilities at Redstone Arsenal. Candidates must have a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, IV&V standards, and quality assurance. This is an on-site role.
*Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions)
- Develops criticality analyses to identify critical infrastructure, key components, and critical mission requirements
- Applies software requirements traceability matrices to cyber, physical, environmental, personnel, safety, and any other type of reported software defect
- Defines Integrity Levels for programs and requirements
- Engages in Software Independent Verification & Validation (SIV&V) planning, creating detailed Software verification and Validation Plans (SVVP) that meet IEEE 1012 recommendations and DoD requirements
- Identifies software anomalies and creates appropriate anomaly reports
- Conducts lifecycle mapping and development verification and validation activities early in the development process
- Creates traceability analyses against design elements, requirements, and functional code units
- Reports compliance with Software Verification and Validation Reports (SVVR)
- Uses requirements management tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, Jama, Jira, Git, and Cameo
- Continuously engages in packaging, deployment, and fielding SIV&V processes
- Executes decommissioning SIV&V activities
- May provide technical consultation to other organizations
- May provide work leadership to lower level employees

Required Skills
Required Experience
- Bachelors’ degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10-15 years related experience
- Must have a minimum of a Secret security clearance; US citizenship required
- Working knowledge of current operating systems and programming languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience analyzing tactical message data (e.g., TADIL-J on a Link 16 network)
- Competent in writing scripts to analyze tactical data
- Software development, requirements analysis, and data analysis experience
- Experience performing SIV&V activities on tactical weapon systems
- Experience with the government acquisition lifecycle (DoD 5000 series) and IEEE 1012
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) IV&V templates, plans, reports, tasks, and standards
