Position Title: Software Integration Engineer
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (Our Facility)

Summary:
Seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to support mission-critical DoD systems in a high-security environment. This role focuses on Linux system integration, AWS cloud engineering, automation, and secure system deployment across hybrid and on-prem/cloud infrastructures.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with RHEL administration, AWS infrastructure, scripting (Bash/Python), and Ansible automation, along with demonstrated experience in system hardening and integration of secure, repeatable environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership as a Systems Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting system design, integration, and secure deployment activities
- Engineer, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in accordance with DoD STIGs, SRGs, and security baselines
- Support and implement AWS cloud solutions (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation) within hybrid and on-prem integrated environments
- Develop and maintain automation using Bash and Python scripting to support system provisioning, integration, and operational sustainment
- Create and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management, system hardening, patching, and repeatable deployments
- Build, test, and maintain installation packages, system images, and deployment pipelines ensuring repeatability and configuration control
- Perform Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) of system builds, installation procedures, and technical documentation
- Identify, document, and remediate defects in system configurations, installation processes, and deployment artifacts
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including SOPs, build guides, configuration baselines, and integration procedures
- Support continuous monitoring (ConMon) activities, including patch management and configuration compliance
- Collaborate with ISSO and security teams to implement secure configurations and maintain system security posture across environment
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors degree in a Technical Field
- 4 years of additional experience may substitute the degree
- DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level 2 Certification is required
- Examples: Security+, CISSP, CASP+
Experience:
- 12 years of experience in Engineering on programs or projects of similar scope, type, and complexity
Skills:
- Intermediate RHEL administration (system services, networking, package management, SELinux, log analysis, performance tuning)
- Intermediate AWS experience, including services such as EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC
- Strong scripting expertise in Bash and Python for automation, system integration, and operational tooling
- Hands-on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories, Tower/AWX preferred)
- Experience applying and remediating DISA STIGs across Linux environments
- Familiarity with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and their role in key management, encryption, and secure system architectures
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
- Experience troubleshooting complex, distributed systems in secure environments
- Strong understanding of system hardening and secure configuration practices
- Ability to translate security requirements into technical implementations
- Excellent communication skills supporting cross-functional engineering teams
- Proven ability to work independently in high-security, mission-focused environments
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel as required.
- Standard office environment with occasional requirements to visit client sites, labs, or field environments.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive Pay: Annual salary ranges from $200,000 to $230,000. Salaries depend on labor category, years of experience, education, skills relevant to the position, and type of contract.
