    Client: State of Arizona – AZASRS Location: 3300 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ, 85007 Duration: 6 Months (Contract-to-Hire; eligible for full-time conversion after ~6 months) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (40 hours/week) Work Type: Hybrid (80% Remote – onsite 1–3×/month) Visa Sponsorship: Not available (must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future)

    Position Overview

    The Arizona State Retirement System (AZASRS) is seeking a Software QA Automation Engineer – Technical Lead to lead quality automation strategy, evolve frameworks, and integrate AI into testing workflows. The ideal candidate is a QA leader with deep technical knowledge, strong hands-on automation skills, and proven experience building scalable, reliable test ecosystems in CI/CD environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead automation strategy, architecture, and standards (Java-based with UI/API automation evolution).

    Implement PR-level tests, contract/API checks, and CI/CD quality gates for early, trusted feedback.

    Leverage AI and LLM-based tools for automated test generation, self-healing, and failure triage.

    Collaborate with DevOps and Architects to optimize pipelines, data management, and release flow.

    Mentor QA engineers and conduct code reviews for automation best practices.

    Build live Grafana dashboards to monitor test coverage, stability, and flakiness.

    Troubleshoot and resolve systemic quality issues across development and production.

    Required Skills

    10+ years in QA/Automation, with 5+ years leading or architecting frameworks.

    Strong experience with BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) using Gherkin or Cucumber.

    Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Ruby.

    Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Maven.

    Demonstrated success embedding automation into CI/CD pipelines.

    Preferred Skills

    Experience with Grafana, Docker/Kubernetes, and Azure/AWS/GCP.

    Familiarity with AI-driven test automation, Jira, and Confluence.

    Knowledge of Playwright (Java/TypeScript) and Selenium WebDriver frameworks.
