Position Overview The State of Arizona is seeking a Software Tester to support a large-scale system replacement project for vocational rehabilitation and related programs. This role involves executing test plans, validating system functionality, and ensuring quality across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Review and understand testing methodologies, test plans, and test scripts
Execute various types of testing including functional, non-functional, regression, and ad-hoc testing
Perform conversion verification and functional testing
Capture and document test results (pass/fail) and defects
Assist with requirements validation and confirmation
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and testing meetings
Collaborate with business analysts, SMEs, and project teams
Support defect remediation and operational readiness testing
Maintain accurate documentation and testing artifacts
Track and report progress, issues, and testing status
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing
At least 1 year of experience testing components of large applications
Knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
Experience with regression, functional, and UAT testing
Strong documentation and defect tracking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Understanding of government business processes
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
