    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    We are looking for a VP of Operations responsible for driving operational innovation and excellence. You will manage all operational functions of the company including Supply Chain and Finance. We're looking for a leader with bold ideas about how to work differently and smarter in response to rapidly changing consumer behavior. You will develop and execute a strategic vision, with a progressive, customer centric-approach that delivers on sales and profit objectives. This position will report directly to the CEO and will serve as a member of the leadership team._ _

    *This is a REMOTE OPPORTUNITY BASED OUT OF CALIFORNIA (required travel to our 3PL and Port location in Long Beach, CA).

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    STRATEGY, VISION AND LEADERSHIP

    • Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency throughout the company's operations.
    • Advise the CEO and other key members of senior management on financial planning budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
    • Contribute to the development of Soko Glam's strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization.
    • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the CEO informed of all critical issues.

    TEAM DEVELOPMENT & PARTNERSHIP

    • Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance and operations teams.
    • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
    • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.
    • Enforce and strengthen Soko Glam's performance management culture; we have very high standards for performance and accountability at all levels across the organization.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Partner cross-functionally, particularly with performance marketing, to create new ways of working that minimize customer and colleague friction and maximize loyalty and conversion.
    • Deliver operational outcomes that enable outstanding customer and financial outcomes.
    • Drive continuous improvement across the entire supply chain with data-driven decision-making in partnership with the Finance team.
    • Consistently identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost savings. 
    • Participate in vendor negotiations to ensure product relevance and cost-efficiency.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Proven work experience as a VP of Operations or other senior role, with a strong focus on supply chain and finance within the ecommerce and retail space
    • Experience building, coaching and training large teams in a dynamic environment
    • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills. Solid understanding of retail and store operations management to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability
    • Problem solving skills - an insatiable curiosity and ability to develop creative solutions to complex business issues
    • Ability to travel 5-10% of the time

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • MBA or MS in related field is preferred
    • Work experience in a startup environment is a plus
    • Beauty experience is a plus
