    Location : Dumbo, Brooklyn (Hybrid: 3 days in office, Tuesday-Thursday)

    Reporting to: Senior Manager, Campaign Marketing

    Program Dates: June 3 - August 23, 2024

    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30AM - 4:30PM EST with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break from 12:00PM - 1:00PM EST (subject to change)

    Compensation: $15 per hour

    OVERVIEW

    Soko Glam is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Brand Marketing Intern to join our team. This role is integral in crafting the consumer narrative for new product launches, technical reviews, and seasonal moments. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer with a proven ability to develop comprehensive press materials and manage public relations initiatives effectively.

    The Summer internship program will run from June 3, 2024 until August 23, 2024. This is a paid, full-time internship with an hourly rate of $15 and an anticipated time commitment of approximately 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday). Interns based in the NY metro area will have the opportunity to work out of the NYC Headquarters (hybrid role, 3x per week in office requirement).

    During the internship program, participants will be paired with a supervisor who will provide them with on-the-job training and projects. The program also incorporates additional learning components focused on professional development, exposure to various functional business areas, and the opportunity to interact with senior executives. Participants will also work on a function-specific project designed to address a current company initiative and/or business gap.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and execute PR strategies that enhance brand visibility and media engagement, including drafting press releases, blog posts, newsletters, pitches, briefing documents, and media analysis.
    • Create and maintain a PR cadence/calendar to manage and schedule all external communications effectively.
    • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to align PR activities with broader marketing campaigns and product launches.
    • Conduct media outreach and manage relationships with key press contacts to secure press hits and coverage.
    • Analyze PR campaign results and media coverage to measure effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Assist in the coordination of PR events and product launches to ensure successful execution and media attendance.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a bachelor's program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a similar field.
    • Strong writing and communication skills, capable of producing high-quality materials with minimal editing.
    • Experience in public relations, ideally within the beauty, retail, or CPG industries, including working at a PR agency or in a publication.
    • Hands-on experience in developing press materials and securing press coverage.
    • Understanding of affiliate marketing and its role in public relations.
    • Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
