    Position Overview:

    The responsibilities of this Solar Energy Consultant will include capitalizing on sales leads and business development opportunities, and to work with residential customers to sell solar energy and facilitate the sales process. This position will work closely with our operations and leadership team to identify target markets, overcome challenges, and drive sales.     We offer extensive paid sales training and ongoing development for our sales team and will equip you with the necessary tools and training to be successful in your role. We are looking for people who want to be part of an enthusiastic team that is passionate for results and providing excellent service to our customers!

    As part of our sales team you will:

    • Work with leads to set up sales presentations and in-home consultations with homeowners

    • Analyze customer's energy bills to explain why solar is beneficial for the customer

    • Explain the features, benefits and incentives of solar panel systems

    • Overcome customer objections and close sales

    • Educate customers on the product and installation process

    • Proactively communicate internally with the Production team and with customers, ensuring an industry-leading level of customer service

    • Track sales activities and maintain accurate records

    • Maintain a positive, professional attitude

    What we’re looking for:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    • Demonstrated sales experience (solar sales experience a plus!) or experience building relationships with customers

    • Willingness to drive to customer appointments (up to two hours away), but appointments are double confirmed

    • Excellent customer service and communication skills

    • Comfortable with field sales and conducting in-home sales presentations

    • Ability to overcome customer objections and close sales

    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    • Willingness to work as a member of a team in an environment where communication and collaboration are key to driving success

    A typical day may include:

    • Consult with prospective customers on solar energy solutions for their home

    • Achieve sales goals including quotas, lead response timeliness, meeting conversions, etc.

    • Qualify prospective customers using established and creative lead methods to build your book of business

    • Work with our internal teams and partners to monitor the approval and administrative progress of your jobs

    • Participate in on-the-job training, classroom instruction, self-study, licensing (if applicable), and lead qualifying activities

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with your customers and surrounding community
