    Position Overview

    We are hiring Solar Consultants at three progressive levels depending on your sales experience. This is a field-based, performance-driven role across our Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse territories. All levels play a critical part in helping homeowners go solar, with clear pathways for rapid advancement as you gain experience and results.

    Solar Consultant I – Entry-level (no prior sales experience required)

    Solar Consultant II – Intermediate (self-generating sales role)

    Solar Consultant III – Senior (experienced sales professionals)

    Key Responsibilities by Level

    Solar Consultant I (Entry-Level – Lead Generation Focus)

    This is the perfect stepping-stone role for motivated individuals who want to break into solar Sales.

    ● Prospect and generate high-quality leads through door-to-door outreach, community events, and targeted neighborhood canvassing.

    ● Educate homeowners on the benefits of solar energy and schedule savings consultations for our closing team.

    ● Track daily activity and lead volume in our CRM system.

    ● Hit weekly lead-generation goals while learning the solar sales process from top performers.

    ● Advance to Solar Consultant II upon consistently meeting targets and demonstrating strong work ethic.

    Solar Consultant II (Self-Generating Sales Role)

    Full-cycle sales position for driven individuals ready to own the entire sales process.

    ● Generate your own leads through prospecting, networking, referrals, and door-knocking.

    ● Conduct in-home savings consultations, present custom solar proposals, and close deals with homeowners.

    ● Qualify homeowners for NYSERDA incentives, tax credits, and financing options.

    ● Deliver exceptional customer experiences from first contact through installation handoff.

    ● Meet or exceed monthly sales and revenue targets.

    Solar Consultant III (Senior/Experienced Sales Role)

    For seasoned sales professionals who want high earning potential with strong company Support.

    ● Start with a steady flow of warm, company-generated leads while continuing to build your own pipeline.

    ● Leverage extensive sales experience to conduct high-level consultations and close complex deals efficiently.

    ● Mentor junior consultants and share best practices with the team.

    ● Maintain a high closing ratio while providing white-glove service to homeowners.

    ● Consistently achieve top-tier production and income goals.

    Compensation & Career Growth

    Performance-based earnings (base + uncapped commissions):

    Solar Consultant I: $50,000 – $100,000 first-year earning potential

    Solar Consultant II: $100,000 – $200,000 first-year earning potential

    Solar Consultant III: $150,000 – $250,000 first-year earning potential

    ● Clear, merit-based promotion path from Level I II III. Depending on→ → performance, Solar Consultants move into the next level on average in 6 months

    What We're Looking For (Qualifications by Level)

    All Levels

    ● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided).

    ● Passion for renewable energy and helping homeowners save money.

    ● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    ● Coachable mindset and strong work ethic.

    ● Ability to work independently in the field and meet performance goals.

    ● Comfortable working evenings and weekends when homeowners are available.

    Solar Consultant I

    ● No prior sales experience required — we provide full training.

    ● High energy, resilience, and a positive attitude.

    ● Previous customer service, retail, or canvassing experience a plus.

    Solar Consultant II

    ● 1+ years of successful sales experience (any industry).

    ● Proven track record of self-generating leads and closing deals.

    ● Ability to manage the full sales cycle independently.

    Solar Consultant III

    ● 3+ years of professional sales experience with a strong closing track record.

    ● Experience in solar, roofing, home improvement, or high-ticket sales highly preferred.

    ● Demonstrated ability to exceed targets and build long-term customer relationships.
