Job Summary:
The Solar Street Team Representative is the face of our solar outreach efforts—connecting directly with community members to educate them about the benefits of solar energy. This high-energy, people-centered role involves canvassing neighborhoods, attending events, and supporting residents in signing up for free or discounted solar programs. Ideal candidates are outgoing, mission-driven, and passionate about clean energy and community empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Community Outreach
Engage residents in-person through door-to-door canvassing and tabling at local events.
Deliver clear, compelling messaging about solar energy options and incentives.
Build trust and awareness, especially in underserved or overburdened communities.
Lead Generation & Follow-up
Collect contact information and qualify interested residents for solar programs.
Schedule follow-up appointments or assessments with program specialists.
Maintain accurate records using mobile tools or CRM platforms (training provided).
Public Engagement
Represent the organization at community events, farmers markets, and neighborhood meetings.
Distribute educational materials, flyers, and promotional items.
Help set up and break down outreach stations and displays.
Team Collaboration
Work as part of a street team, sharing progress, best practices, and feedback.
Attend regular training, debrief sessions, and community briefings.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Energetic, positive attitude and ability to engage with people from all walks of life.
Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, or social justice.
Comfortable with door-to-door canvassing and working outdoors for extended periods.
Prior experience in sales, outreach, canvassing, or community organizing is a plus.
Bilingual or multilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Haitian Creole) are highly desirable.
Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the U.S.
