Job Title: SolarWinds Engineer – Transit Infrastructure Monitoring
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid/On-site as required)
Position Summary
We are seeking an expert-level SolarWinds Engineer to lead the monitoring strategy for mission-critical transportation infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique demands of transit systems—particularly uptime, safety, and real-time performance visibility across rail, bus, and control center networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and manage SolarWinds environments (NPM, NTA, SAM, NCM, etc.) across transit systems.
- Develop advanced dashboards and alerts for SCADA, signaling, and communications systems.
- Integrate SolarWinds with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) to support field teams and control centers.
- Lead root cause analysis and performance tuning for transit infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with NERC-CIP, DOT, and local transportation authority standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to align monitoring with safety and reliability goals.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on SolarWinds experience in large-scale, real-time environments.
- Deep understanding of SNMP, NetFlow, WMI, and industrial protocols used in transportation.
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation and integration.
- Experience supporting field operations and remote asset monitoring.
- Familiarity with transit systems, control rooms, and transportation procurement processes.
- Logicmonitor tool is required.
