    Job Description

    WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?

    The Finance Specialist provides support to the finance team to ensure successful coordination of finance related activities across departments.

    • Assist in the preparation and submission of bi-weekly payroll.
    • Analyze and process Federal and State Levies, Child Support payments, and Writs of Garnishment.
    • Process direct deposit forms.
    • Generate system reports for journal entry preparation, biweekly and monthly.
    • Assist in processing accounts payable invoices.
    • Review invoices to ensure reasonableness and proper approvals in compliance to existing policies.
    • Generate system reports and collaborate with accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate payments of benefit plans premiums.
    • Generate reports for Worker’s Compensation annual audit.
    • Assist in the distribution of W-2 forms.
    • Maintain all related payroll files and records, both electronic and hard copy

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Basic understanding of accounting as related to payroll.
    • Must be computer literate. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).
    • Knowledge of operating general office equipment, including telephone and multifunction printer.
    • Preference given to candidates with experience with payroll software systems

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • G.E.D/High School Diploma required
    • 1+ years in finance or accounting minimum

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands
    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Exposure to noise typical with office operations.
    • Ability to hear and speak.
