Job Description

As an Embedded Engineer, you are responsible for equipment architecture, procurement, build, and commissioning of first of their kind automated kitchen equipment. Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of experience designing embedded components
• 5+ years developing production worthy firmware
• Experience with developing equipment or products for regulated industries such as restaurant, medical, aerospace, or related industries
• Highly skilled at PCBA design (Altium preferred)
• Strong engineering fundamentals in materials and electronics
• Experience obtaining UL listing for electronic components
• Experience managing third-party development partners, suppliers, and contractors
• Consumer product design experience and designing products for scale
• Experience with networking communication protocols such as EtherCAT, modbus, serial and others
• Experience with consumer facing robotic products
• A fast learner who can thrive in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, start-up environment

Responsibilities:

• Design, analyze, build, and test distributed control components, sensors, motion control, and vision systems for robotic kitchen appliances
• Own critical machine hardware/sub-systems
• Work with production and product to ensure successful delivery of hardware to customers
• Implement UL and other standards for proprietary electronic equipment
• Generate production documentation
• Train the teams to support automated equipment after deployment into production
• Debug and optimize automated processes to minimize cycle time, improve availability, and yield
• Work closely with cross functional stakeholders to scope, concept, plan and execute development activities
• Expect domestic travel up to 15% to support the design and commissioning activities
