    The Business Analyst/Product Owner (BA/PO) represents business stakeholders to elicit, understand, analyze, document, refine and communicate business needs so that technical delivery teams can build effective solutions. This requires a detailed understanding of client needs, as well as business vision and strategy, to prioritize investment, business value and delivery. The ideal candidate must be able to work collaboratively as a fully contributing team member and performs essential tasks to translate business requirements and project objectives into an actionable plan, coordinate activities across cross-functional teams, monitor progress toward objectives and plan, and develop/manage the schedule to ensure projects are completed on-time and aligned with stakeholder expectations.

     

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

     As an key member of the Product Management team, we’re looking for an experienced BA/PO who can collaborate across product, technology, and business functions. The BA/PO will contribute to Solovis’ innovative product offerings by working closely with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate needs, discover and develop requirements and both manage and execute change through the continuous software development lifecycle.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work as part of a cross-functional Product delivery team to deliver high quality, secure, robust and scalable solutions that align with stakeholder expectations
    • Engage with domain and subject matter experts to identify, develop, document, validate and endorse requirements, demonstrating Agile behaviors that emphasize collaboration, delivery, reflection, and improvement
    • Understand the business processes, conducting story mapping, documenting detailed business requirements, developing functional designs, conducting gap analysis, etc. that bring the client and project team to a common understanding of the product and how it will satisfy the business need
    • Consult with and advise product managers when defining product release content and timeline, applying product development principles, innovative thinking and a focus around the client or user experience
    • Work with the Product Manager to ensure alignment toward the business vision and strategy and to translate roadmaps into user stories that are part of a well-groomed, prioritized backlog
    • Use various elicitation techniques (business process mapping, story mapping, documenting detailed business requirements, developing functional designs, conducting gap analysis, etc.) needed to create solid requirements in the form of user stories that bring the client and project team to a common understanding of the product and how it will satisfy the business need
    • Facilitate and participate in relevant ceremonies and rituals (Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-up, Iteration / Release Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospective, etc.)
    • Operate in an agile team environment and ensure success of the project by taking ownership of deliverables and performing agile project management, testing, support and training
    • Drive identification, socialization and mitigation of risks that could compromise delivery
    • Maintain open and constant communication amongst the team, management, and stakeholders regarding project status and sprint outcomes through the use of sprint reviews, release burndowns, and other vehicles as needed
    • Inspect, accept or reject completed work from the development sprint
    • Plan, organize and facilitate User Acceptance Testing
    • Promote a collaborative working relationship with the team and stakeholders
    • Conduct all business in accordance with eVestment policies and procedures

     

    ABOUT YOU: 

    •  2+ years of experience and successful track record as a Business Analyst/Product Owner or equivalent role in an Agile environment
    • Demonstrated ability to undertake business analysis within an Agile environment with experience in requirements elicitation, gathering, documentation and management
    • Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups across multiple disciplines
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, including taking initiative, providing regular updates on your work, seeking and providing support as required
    • Demonstrated functional and conceptual understanding of technical matters, as well as the proven ability to quickly learn new business domains and technical applications
    • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems and try new approaches to achieve work outcomes, leveraging a strong analytical mindset
    • Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders and users in the provision of advice, guiding decision-making and seeking cooperation in the delivery of solutions
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver technical and business reports and proposals for all levels
    • Demonstrated proactive client service skills and effective stakeholder management
    • Strong attention to detail including precise and effective communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
    • Effective meeting management skills to initiate, develop agenda, conduct, and communicate decisions so that all appropriate parties are kept up-to-date
    • Energetic, shows passion and is invested in the project as well as our business as a whole
    • Self-starter with innate desire to learn
