Vice President EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) - Renewable Energy

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a VICE PRESIDENT OF EHS (ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY) for our renewable energy client located in HOUSTON, TX.
· Base $190K - $210K DOE plus bonus + LTI + benefits
· Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
· Role is HANDS-ON and requires current EHS leadership experience (policies and procedures, processes, system implementations, ESG reporting, compliance, regulatory)
· Renewable sector EHS experience preferred (but not required)
· Role is office based with up to 20% travel within North America
The Vice President of EHS will lead the development and implementation of the overall strategic direction, compliance and management of all EHS functions within the organization. Highly motivated hands-on executive with leadership experience in a sophisticated EHS organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Accountable for development, implementation and ongoing/day-to-day health and safety hazards, environmental matters, and companywide EHS training program.
· Leads EHS and operations management teams through changes in EHS, new compliance requirements and management system and reporting awareness whereby developing and maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
· Oversees EHS programs and projects addressing applicable EHS regulations and other compliance requirements.
· Leads and expands EHS training program for all corporate and field personnel.
· Lead company representative with regards to regulatory matters and interaction with external agencies.
· Directs team of EHS personnel to set and implement plans that increase managers’ and employees’ awareness, knowledge, skills, and commitment to EHS.
· Responsible for EHS reviews, compliance reviews, and assurance activities to ensure corrective actions are acted on, tracked and followed through as needed.
· Manages EHS and compliance requests from the senior leadership team and Board of Directors.
· Responsible for ensuring the creation and maintenance of critical processes and that stakeholders institutionalize these into their day-to-day business functions with aspirations for continuous improvement.
· Manages the budget allocated to EHS and has the decision-making authority and judgement to decide upon EHS, Training and other resource needs and identifying financial resources required to implement new programs and initiatives.
· Organizes QA/QC audits and processes feedback from those audits.
· Leads the EHS committee within the company and makes EHS recommendations to the senior leadership team.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, EHS or related field
· 15+ years of progressive EHS experience most recently as EHS VP, director or equivalent EHS leadership role
· 7+ years of experience in the energy business (O&G, LNG, Energy Services) with preference given to a candidate with knowledge of the renewable energy business.
· Excellent internal leadership skills, and the ability to translate business strategy into processes, systems and operations which enable consistently strong EHS performance
· Must be a team player with the ability to lead, delegate, facilitate flow of work and motivate.
· Excellent people skills and effective presentation/training/facilitation skills.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressure.
