POSITION: Technical Service Specialist - Industrial Water Treatment

MISSION:

Solugen has a rich pipeline of high performance and carbon negative molecules launching on its BioforgeTM manufacturing platform. Each molecule is destined for a corresponding pipeline of products co-created by Solugen's customers and product development teams.

The Technical Service Specialist - Industrial Water Treatment is responsible for managing the customer validation and efforts of the water treatment product portfolio in the Solugen Product team. They will promote a strong market orientation, influencing strategy formation and investment decisions. They will create and build value propositions based on in-depth customer knowledge (VOC). They will work closely with cross functional teams throughout the product development process, as well as develop and implement marketing plans to meet revenue and profit targets.

OUTCOMES:

• Subject Matter of Expertise in IWT Chemicals
• Primarily assist customers with their field trials using Solugen's biobased chemistry to gain customer's adoptions
• 5-yr water treatment product roadmap including ensuring that Solugen penetrates the cooling tower, boiler, reverse osmosis segments of the water treatment space
• Assist the build out of Solugen's Technical Services organization in other markets

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a strong understanding and appreciation for chemical products in assigned markets, usually acquired through a combination of completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is plus but not required.
• Minimum 5 years prior experience in technical services and development for Industrial Water Treatment segment
• Must have a passion for technical support and product development
• Must be nimble and able to multi-task. Able to manage multiple projects.
• Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of thriving in a cross-functional team environment
• Ability to deliver results through exceptional project management skills and leadership capabilities.
• Strong computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• B2B experience from a chemical business or similar
• Experience in energy (oil and gas) and water treatment chemicals
• Project management skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Generate exemplary formulations and technical data to showcase the benefits of Solugen water treatment products relating to cooling towers, boilers, and reverse osmosis technologies that improve our probability to successfully penetrate Tier 1, 2 and 3 customers in the water treatment segment
• Become subject matter of expertise (SME) for IWT chemicals
• Prioritize & assist field trials conducted by customer
• Collaborate with Product Development, Marketing and Product Management to develop 5-year product roadmap for Solugen water treatment technology
• Meet regularly with customers, to understand customer needs and testing requirements
• Collaborate with sales to develop and implement regional and/or national technical sales training programs,
• Participate and present in industry trade shows, conferences, and seminars.
• Assist the build out of the Technical Services organizations which will include IWT, agriculture, concrete, and cleaning chemicals
