Located in Houston, Texas, Solugen has created the world's first carbon negative specialty chemicals manufacturing facility: the BioforgeTM. This manufacturing technology leverages Solugen's chemienzymatic process to convert biobased feedstocks into high performance products for water treatment, agriculture, infrastructure, and personal care. MISSION AND OUTCOMES:

The Technology Rotational Development Program's (TRDP) mission is to identify and cultivate future leaders for Solugen's Process Development, Projects, Engineering, or Operations. Over the course of the year, this employee will rotate through all four departments to experience every flavor of process engineering, matching to a single department at the end of the rotation.

Key Outcomes for this role are:

1. Contribute to the development or scale up of 1 novel chemical process

2. Support front-end design of a green chemicals plant

3. Support project engineering efforts to procure and build a green chemicals plant

4. Work as a shift lead in a chemienzymatic or fermentation plant

COMPETENCIES

Job Specific

• Experience with AutoCAD and MS Project Preferred
• Experience with pilot-scale unit operations preferred
• Experience with ASPEN, ChemCAD, or other process simulation software preferred
• Excited to learn new things
• Analytical approach to problem solving, with a focus on managing a team environment with attention to results and a sense of urgency
• Attention to detail and organization.
• Good communication, negotiation, leadership, and project management skills with the desire to further develop these skills as the company grows.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Chemical Engineering or Biochemical Engineering
• 0-2 years of experience
