GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR A SENIOR ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ACCOUNTANT

We are assisting a client, a prestigious investment management company, in their search for a SENIOR ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ACCOUNTANT. The hourly pay rate for this position is $40-48/hr. This position is a 12-24 months contract and will be based out of San Antonio, TX.

The ideal candidate will posses or have experience performing the following:

• AP and accounting experience.
• Analytical experience with attention to details.
• SAP is a plus.
• Needs to know Microsoft Applications.
• Advanced excel knowledge is needed.
• Experience working with invoices and expense reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 7 years in a similar position
• Accounting degree or demonstrates working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply it to work assignments
• SAP experience preferred
• Sound judgment in resolving routine matters
• Initiative to identify issues/errors for managers/others
• Prioritize assigned work and complete work in a timely manner
• Intellectual curiosity, analytical and problem solving skills in areas of moderate complexity
• High attention to details

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzes invoices for accuracy, including tax compliance
• Determines appropriate expense or balance sheet general ledger and departmental cost center
• Obtains proper approval based on expense type and amount
• Calculates allocations based on specified drivers by expense
• Analyzes invoice data for trends and exceptions
• Verifies the mathematical accuracy of data, and proofreads documents
• Communicates directly to both vendors and business partners and seeks needed information
• Performs and/or reviews schedules, transaction postings, or reconciliations completed by other associates for completeness and accuracy
• Uploads and processes invoice and reimbursement files into the corporate financial systems.
• Compiles standard and ad hoc reports for review by other associates and managers in accordance with accounting standards, regulations, and policies
• Identifies and proposes process improvements as appropriate
