We are assisting our client, a financial services company in Irvine, in their search for a SSRS Report Developer. This position will start as a REMOTE opportunity with the possibility of going onsite in Irvine, CA. The position can be a contract to hire position for the right candidate.

The Report Developer will be responsible for the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of ad-hoc and recurring reports as well as dashboards that utilize the underlying data stores for internal and external use. In this role you will work with cross-functional teams and analyze and clarify report requirements, make recommendations, and educate when necessary to meet business needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science (or equivalent) required
• 5+ years working with SQL Server (through 2012), advanced knowledge of SSRS
• Experience writing complex SQL queries and Stored Procedures, using Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with report automation and BI tools, including Power BI, Tableau or Microsoft Reporting Services
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to interface directly with customer for report and dashboard requirements
• Attention to detail and solid organization skills
• Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Good business understanding and ability to convert complex business needs into efficient and accurate reporting

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops complex reports including such tasks as gathering, refining and documenting requirements, analyzes data sources, develops, presents and refines prototypes, documents and reports on statuses, develops both simple and complex queries, formats and presents results, performs quality assurance and validation of data and interacts with users to reconcile discrepancies
• Develops, tests and maintains simple and complex queries, data imports and exports from heterogeneous data sources, e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel XML, proprietary third party file formats, flat files and CSV files
• Monitors existing reports and infrastructure, identifies and implements optimizations to both performance and accuracy as required and appropriate
• Develops and adheres to standards, processes and procedures to create, deploy and maintain reports
• Works with business areas in the analysis of proposed and existing systems to provide access to required functionality, data and reporting solutions
• Contributes to the enterprise reporting vision, strategy and roadmap in close alignment with departmental business requirements, company leadership and key business unit stakeholders
• Excels within a team of data, information and solution experts who are responsible for working with the applications and infrastructure teams to develop and deliver products and services
• Conducts research and makes recommendations to the Enterprise Business Solutions Manager on services and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
