We deliver secure, high-quality language solutions in 80+ spoken and signed languages for USCIS and other federal agencies.

    We are seeking Somali Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Somali is a critical East African language, widely spoken in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti, and diaspora communities, and is frequently required for asylum and immigration interviews.

    Responsibilities

    Provide real-time Somali ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.

    Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration, asylum, and legal contexts.

    Maintain confidentiality in compliance with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.

    Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.

    Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.

    Qualifications

    Native or near-native fluency in Somali and English.

    2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, medical, or government preferred).

    Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.

    Strong telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
