CONTRACT POSITION – LONG TERM
Location: Remote work
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES •Able to dive deep into a technical task and provide in-depth recommendations on best design and coding practices •Tune and refactor existing Java and DB solutions •Be a coach – facilitate and lead code review, design, and technical sessions •Be delivery- and quality-focused Ensure security and compliance requirements; publish and keep current any suitable artifacts •Own the high-level design of the solution and evaluate solution alternatives. Define subsystems and their interfaces (including UI interfaces); allocate responsibilities to subsystems; understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interaction with the solution context •Mentor more junior members of the delivery organization EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS •8+ years of experience in software development required, including some commercial/non-government work • Bachelor’s degree or greater in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred. • Hands on experience designing, developing, implementing, testing, and deploying large scale projects on AWS • Hands on experience with Java in a Linux or UNIX development environment • Ability to debug and tune complex applications • Experience with ingesting, storing, validating and transforming large volume of enterprise data in a consumable format REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE • Java Dev: Spring stack (DI, AOP, Security, Boot, etc.) • JPA/Hibernate/Spring • Design Patterns • REST APIs • Unit testing (JUnit, RestAssured, etc.) • DB/SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle) • Git/Maven/Gradle • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships and leverage those relationships to improve the quality of work products.
