    Job Description

    We are hiring a MAITRE D’/ SOMMELIER to run the front of the house at The Black Pearl in Dunedin.

    The Maitre D’/ Sommelier is responsible for leading the guest experience at The Black Pearl restaurant, taking on responsibilities including but not limited to:

    · Lead the front of house team and ensure an excellent hospitality experience for guests that results in return visits.

    · Hire and train hourly FOH staff, including servers and server assistants.

    · Create and develop a dynamic and interesting wine program at the restaurant.

    · Responsible for ordering, receiving, inventory, organizing and selling wine for all departments

    · Oversee all wine purchases and cost management

    · Assist members and guests during the dinner service with wine recommendations and selection for perfect pairing with their dinner, decanting of the wine and wine service

    · Develop a training program for all Team Members to improve their knowledge of general service, wine tasting and wine service

    · Communicate with supervisors/leadership team to maintain consistent practices and secure policy and procedure.

    · Communicate restaurant goals to team effectively and motivates others.

    · Work with the Feinstein Group corporate marketing department; seek to grow customer base and increase store traffic by collaborating on promotions within and outside the store as well as maintaining functional, efficient, pleasant restaurant environment and high-quality food and beverage offerings.

    · Lead and model overall culture, values, mission, and spirit of the company. Is knowledgeable about the ideals and principles of The Feinstein Group and ensures that our story is appropriately conveyed by staff and store environment.

    · Helps to create positive, enthusiastic, and well-trained restaurant culture by providing an informed, honest, and optimistic example for the team.

    · Responds appropriately to ideas, concerns, complaints, and comments from management and staff.

    · Models proper attendance, punctuality, customer service, and overall attitude.

    · Ensures store appearance is maintained at all times, including restaurant seating area and FOH/BOH.

    The position is based in Dunedin, FL and will report directly to the Director of Operations, working in close collaboration with supporting corporate departments.     Desired Skills & Experience: 2-3 years in restaurant management Strong network in the Tampa area Strong knowledge of natural wine Leadership skills and team building proficiencies Ability to motivate people to achieve objectives Supreme commitment to customer service Flexible working hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays Manager Food Handlers Certification

    Salary: Competitive full-time salary commensurate based on experience
