    Easterseals-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain is a private, nonprofit organization serving children and adults with autism and other disabilities, along with disadvantaged families in Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming. 

     

     

    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    Team Members in our Career Designs Program actively exhibits through consistent behavior the commitment to serve and respect clients. Serves as an active member of the team to ensure that the goals of clients are being met, reviewed, and updated according to the participant's Individual Plan (IP or PSP). Spends the majority of workday actively involved with clients. Maintains a safe environment for clients and co-workers. Completes accurate documentation of services provided.

     

    • Provide supports to participants in services in the following areas;
      • Stimulation, activities of daily living to include self-help skills, interpersonal and survival skills, leisure time activities
      • Health and safety, behavior support, medical and personal care needs
      • Other supports to participants as developed by team.
      • Self-advocacy and increased independence.
      • Community participation and integration
    • Ensures a service environment for participants free of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
    • Follows all policy and procedures set by ESGW, DDP and other oversight agencies.
    • Work with individual participants to ensure that programs are conducted consistent with PSP goals.
    • Assist in developing and implementing meaningful and appropriate activities for participants. Keep participants engaged in work or structured activities during program hours.
    • Complete incident and accident reports as required by state administrative rules following the IMS policy.
    • Complete required documentation of all services and supports provided on a daily basis. Ensure attendance, data and payrolls are reported in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Maintain complete and accurate participant files documenting activities, contacts, progress, outcomes and billing information.
    • Assist in completion of status reports to D.D. Program and case managers in a timely and accurate manner.
    •  Job development, job coaching and follow along services for participants in individual job placements. Work; enclaves, organizational, and community contracts.
    • Obtain CPR/first aid certification within 30 days of hire; maintain throughout employment
    • Obtain DDP Medication Assistance Certification within 3 months of hire; maintain throughout employment. Medication monitoring and assistance in accordance with individual plans.
    • Complete D.D. services orientation within first week of hire.
    • Attend meetings and training as necessary and assigned.
    • Transports participants as needed
    • Provides support and/or training for safe transportation for participants.
    • Assist in coordinating the purchase and use of materials, supplies and equipment.

    Required Skills

     

    • Behavior support skills preferred.
    • Must be self-motivated, flexible, enjoy challenges and must be willing to work as part of a team.
    • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
    • Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all requirements of the job.
    • Utilizing proper body mechanics, applicant must have the ability to lift supplies, equipment and as detailed below, applicant must perform a variety of physical tasks because of the special needs of participants in this area.  These physical tasks include but are not limited to the following:
    • Pushing wheelchairs and assisting with other adaptive equipment during regular program activities and in emergency evacuations
    • Ensuring participants’ safety during seizures, emergencies or transfers - lifting them to a chair, lowering them to a bed or the floor or otherwise moving them to a safe area.
    • Therapy regimes prescribed by a physician such as: range of motion exercise and utilization of various O.T./PT materials and/or equipment.
    • Moving equipment/material handling - up to 50-pound boxes, tables, chairs; bending, stretching and reaching to retrieve materials.
    • Assisting participants to use restroom - transferring on and/or off stool or from a wheelchair to a bed.
    • Training participants in vocational tasks - standing or leaning over worker for up to 50 minute training session; meet production/program demands requiring on your feet duty for up to 5 hours.
    • Assure participant safety with visual surveillance, auditory monitoring, and physical support.
    • Bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, lifting and physically supporting/ guiding participants are frequently required.  Heavy lifting (over 50 pounds team lifting or lifting with mechanical assist) is required occasionally.  Moderate lifting is frequently required.
    • Ability to provide emergency first aid care to participants including all components of CPR
    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions required.
    • Must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

    Required Experience

     

    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
    • Program development and implementation skills preferred. Behavior management skills preferred.
    • Must be self motivated, flexible, enjoy challenges and must be willing to work as part of a team.
    • Must have valid MT driver's license, satisfactory driving record and proof of insurance.
    • Applicant must pass a background check and DMV check
