  • Responsibilities

    Responsible for the creation, installation, security, performance tuning, maintenance, and backups of DPH database environments. Provide information technology solutions to defined standards, constraints and system requirements to manage the databases and data dictionaries of the IT enterprise in development, test and production environments. 

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop scripts for the creation of the physical database schema, data security and protection
    • Administration skills in sizing, capacity planning in large-scale enterprise environment
    • Design, document and build table, column, index and view definitions to storage requirements and drive space and growth accommodations
    • Optimize and tuning of workloads, query or package changes and optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability
    • Ability to design, monitor, and administer databases
    • Determine processes that should be developed/automated to improve efficiency and reliability
    • Experience planning and installing Oracle RAC databases on 11g and 12g. Worked with network and storage teams to plan and create environments.
    • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of complex UNIX shell scripts for the administration of databases.
    • Strong experience on Red hat Linux and Windows enterprise server systems.
    • Worked with PCI projects to secure production environments.
    • Worked with storage teams to present storage and add storage for ASM and ACFS file systems.
    • Configurated TNS, VIP and SCAN listeners
    • Experience with partitioning and indexing and working with large data sets.
    • Experience in Oracle performance tuning. Created SQL tracing and used tkprof, SQL baselines, and Grid control.
    • Configured and scripted RMAN backup and recovery processes. Performed point in time recovery using RMAN and flashback operations.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL, analytic queries, and PL/SQL.
    • Provided support for Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control and Agents for database monitoring/performance/diagnostics.
    • Experienced in setting up and maintaining Oracle GoldenGate bi-directional replication

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • 5-7 years’ experience in Oracle database technologies
    • Prior experience writing PL/SQL triggers and/or procedures.
    • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate is a plus.
    • Ability to work with minimal direction, yet also able to work in team environment.
    • Working knowledge of LINUX and shell scripting.
    • Experience configuring database network connectivity.
    • Understanding of database backup and recovery techniques using RMAN and Network Appliance filers.
    • Experience with high volume websites that use multi-tier architectures a significant plus.
    • Understanding or experience using Oracle Real Application Cluster’s and implementation best-practices.
    • Ability to analyze existing systems and make recommendations on which technology best suits the business requirement for high availability, Disaster Recovery or high performance.
    • Experience setting up and managing Oracle ASM.
    • Experience setting up and Managing OEM 12c/13c.
    • Experience managing MySQL is a plus.
