We are hiring CONSTRUCTION SITE ENVIRONMENTALIST – WIND POWER for my Client at MACOMB, ILLINOIS.
Job Position : CONSTRUCTION SITE ENVIRONMENTALIST – WIND POWER
Job Location : MACOMB, IL
Contract : 6+ MONTHS
Pay Rate : $50 PER HOUR ON W2
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The Designated Environmental Representative (DER) is a key member of the overall Project construction team and will work closely and collaboratively with Owner’s CM and OER.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that the Contractor follows and fulfills all requirements detailed in the Project Environmental Management Plan (PEMP).
- Ensures that subcontractors follow and fulfill the PEMP.
- Monitors and verifies compliance with all environmental requirements for the Project.
- Coordinates with Owner and directs Contractor’s staff and subcontractor(s) to ensure environmental requirements are understood and met.
- This includes communicating environmental restrictions.
- Ensuring restricted areas are clearly identified and confirming that all areas where work will be occurring are cleared for construction prior to the commencement of work.
- Provides high quality and accurate deliverables and ensures timely and accurate reporting.
- Develops an Environmental Training Program that includes Environmental Awareness Training and provides the required environmental, wildlife and plant habitat training for all workers on the Project.
- Participates in regularly scheduled construction planning meetings, daily ‘plan of day’ meetings and all other applicable meetings as required.
- Proactively assesses, communicates and reinforces environmental requirements for ongoing and upcoming work.
- Identifies solutions to environmental concerns.
- Identifies, communicates and oversees implementation of appropriate environmental control measures and corrective actions, if necessary.
- Prepares and maintains environmental inspection reports and documentation in accordance with project requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years in a construction environment.
- 5+ years safety and health experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of safety and health standards and practices.
- Knowledge of construction contracting strategies and contract administration.
- Knowledge of environmental laws and company and client programs, procedures.
- Ability to effectively interface with client and government officials.
- Communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage emergency situations.
- Word processing and spreadsheet computer software programs.
- Ability to write detailed reports.
- Human relations skills.
- Conflict management skills.
