    STAMFORD HEALTH IS SEEKING A FULL TIME DATA ENGINEER!

    The data engineer, which is an emerging role in Stamford Health data and analytics team, will play a pivotal role in operationalizing the most-urgent data and analytics initiatives for Stamford Health digital business initiatives. The bulk of the data engineer’s work would be in building, managing and optimizing data pipelines and then moving these data pipelines effectively into production for key data and analytics consumers (like business/data analysts, data scientists or any persona that needs curated data for data and analytics use cases).

    The newly hired data engineer will be the key interface in operationalizing data and analytics on behalf of the [business unit(s)] and organizational outcomes. This role will require both creative and collaborative working with IT and the wider business. It will involve evangelizing effective data management practices and promoting better understanding of data and analytics. The data engineer will also be tasked with working with key business stakeholders, IT experts and subject-matter experts to plan and deliver optimal analytics and data science solutions.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data management, information systems, information science or a related quantitative field [or equivalent work experience] is required.

    • An advanced degree in computer science (MS), statistics, applied mathematics (Ph.D.), information science (MIS), data management, information systems, information science (postgraduation diploma or related) or a related quantitative field [or equivalent work experience] is preferred.

    • The ideal candidate will have a combination of IT skills, data governance skills, analytics skills and Health Care knowledge with a technical or computer science degree.

    • At least 6 years or more of work experience in data management disciplines including data integration, modeling, optimization and data quality, and/or other areas directly relevant to data engineering responsibilities and tasks.

    • At least 3 years of experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in Health Care in support of a departmental and/or multi-departmental data management and analytics initiative.
