The responsibility of this role is to direct the day-today warehouse activities including receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Direct and perform a variety of warehousing duties such as loading, checking, order picking, and shipping.
    • Monitor and verify the accuracy of outbound shipments.
    • Ensure that all customer orders and branch transfers are filled, packaged, loaded and delivered correctly and on time.
    • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
    • Monitor equipment maintenance and housekeeping. Lead the team concerning best practices, and proper procedures and ensure a safe and productive work environment.
    • Assists and directs efficiency inventory management and cycle counts.
    • Participates in ordering or purchasing standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits.
    • Assists in the training and development of Warehouse associates. May monitor attendance, hours worked and job performance.
    • Be courteous in all contact with company customers.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Knowledge of safety practices.
    • Ability to lift heavy packages and objects.
    • Skill in operating forklift or other materials handling equipment.
    • Skill in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas.
    • Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation.
    • Ability to effectively communicate.
    • Customer focused and team oriented.
    • Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Completion of PEAK I & II if applicable.
