  • Responsibilities

    STAMFORD HEALTH is seeking an individual to join our DEPARTMENT OF RADIOLOGY as a RADIOLOGY TECH (MRI TECH AIDE).  This is a PER DIEM role.  The RADIOLOGY TECH AIDE assists the technologist by providing support when necessary with the patient, transporting, clerical, computer input, screening and prepping patients.

     

     

    Required Skills

    • Respects and protects the patient’s rights to confidentiality and privacy and discloses information only for professional purposes which are in the patient’s best interests with full consideration of their legal rights.
    • Provides safe patient care by verifying patient identification and assuring the presence of any pre-authorizations, pre-certifications, screening forms, and all laboratory reports needed for that particular patient.
    • Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants and other hazardous substances.
    • Has knowledge of computers, radiation & MRI safety, equipment and supplies necessary and conscientiously prepares for each procedure.
    • Promote efficiency and safety during radiology procedures by maintaining control of all instrumentation.
    • Accurately handle and identify specimens according to established guidelines
    • Attends scheduled staff meetings, in-service education opportunities and participates in continuing education programs. Formulates and maintains effective working relationships with peer, managers and other managers of the health care team.
