    Sonnets Academy is seeking an experienced full time Early Childhood Associate Lead Teacher to join our Junior Preschool Program (Twos/Threes). This warm and patient individual should have creativity and lots of passion for the field of Early Childhood Education.

    Our Early Childhood Associate Lead Teachers are responsible for supporting the curriculum lessons in alignment with our developmental curricular goals and fostering a safe and organized learning environment. This position works in collaboration with the Lead Teacher, Director, Education Coordinator and the other members of the preschool programs and is directly supervised and mentored by the classroom Lead Teacher.

    Full Time Position

    Up to $46,000. Salary dependent on experience and level of education.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

    Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for two and three year olds

    Experience implementing curriculum lesson plans in classroom setting

    Must be a team player and eager to work with others

    Positive and proactive communication skills

    One or more years of professional experience in an early childhood classroom

    Must meet and follow all City and State licensing requirements

    Responsibilities and Duties

    Support and help implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to foster a play based and structured environment

    Help facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safe peer interactions throughout the day

    In collaboration with Lead Teacher, assesses and reports using curricular checklists, anecdotal notes and narratives throughout the year that effectively and accurately communicates the child’s progress

    Documents daily and weekly reports for each child on classroom app for parents

    Maintain a safe, organized classroom that supports each child’s independent learning

    Meet the needs of the whole child and support the social and emotional growth of all children

    Follow supervision, mentorship and instruction from Lead Teacher for the purpose of providing an effective and efficient classroom environment and addressing the needs of individual students

    Attend and participate in age group team collaborative meetings, whole staff meetings, classroom team meetings and cross age group team meetings

    Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with children, parents, staff and community members by communicating in a respectful, courteous and confidential manner
